Choosing the Correct Rufus Build
Standard Executable (x64)
Recommended for practically all modern PCs and laptops running 64-bit Windows 11, Windows 10, or Windows 8.1. Runs with the highest memory bandwidth and native 64-bit optimizations.
Portable Release (.p)
Functions identically to standard Rufus, but saves its configuration, language preferences, and update check records in a local rufus.ini file rather than writing registry entries.
ARM64 Edition
Crafted specifically for Windows PCs operating on ARM64 processors (such as Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, Snapdragon 8cx, or Microsoft SQ series). Delivers native execution without x86 translation.
